WV DHHR COVID-19 UPDATE - 11 November 2020

Hello friends. Back again with another update on COVID-19 in West Virginia. So, let's get started!

                                        Tested                Positive                    Deaths

WV                                  871,867              30,201 (up 885)        553 (up 7)

Greenbrier Co.               15,811                228 (up 4)                  5

Monroe Co.                     7,609                  266 (up 1)                  8

Note that the positives for the state are rapidly closing in on the 1,000th mark daily! Overnight there was a jump of 885 cases; with deaths up 7. Both Greenbrier and Monroe Counties saw a slight rise in positive cases. No new deaths reported in either county!

As always let me implore you to Wear a Mask when leaving home. Make sure it covers both the mouth and the nose to be protected, or to protect others. Practice social distancing by keeping 6-ft. space between you and everyone else when in public. Practice frequent handwashing, with soap and water under running water. If soap and water is not available you may use hand sanitizers. These can cause chapping, cracks, splits. Be sure to use a good emollient after washing your hands. Wear gloves when in public if you have any sores or open skin on your hands.  Do not attend any public gatherings, such as a concert, or church. There are many concerts available to watch online. And many churches have put the week's services in a virtual room so that you can see the service in real time, or save and come back later. Order groceries in if you have that service available. If not, get the staples from online stores. I purchase everything but fresh meats and fresh vegetables from Amazon and Walmart. Both offer free shipping.  And many grocery chains have adopted the free pickup, they will do the shopping for you, just call them to say you are there, and they will bring your groceries to the car, and even put them in for you. It's a different world folks. And if we don't learn to make it work, then we're headed down a very worrisome way.

And that's all for now folks! Have a great Wednesday! God Bless us everyone!
