WV DHHR COVID-19 UPDATE...16 February 2021

Hello one and all! I hope you are bundled up against this cold! I know the tendency is to crank the heat up, but please be conservative if you can. I know it is hard to do that when you may live in a home that is not well. We live in a mobile home, and while the walls have decent insulation, our floors are always cold in the winter. We run around inside with heavy socks and sheepskin slippers trying to keep our feet warm. I live in long sleeves and extra sweaters, or hoodies. And we eat alot of winter foods: chili, soups, Ramen with a side of grilled cheese sandwiches, etc. We also use a lot of warming spices: cumin, chili powder, paprika, hot sauce, salsa, etc. And we tend to drink ALOT of coffee during the cold months, just trying to stay warm! I close our heavy blackout drapes a lot during really cold spells. (I said I was going to get window insulation kits this winter, but I forget about them until winter's cold is attracted to our window's glass! We make sure our furnace filters are cleaned regularly, and that all of the vented duct openings are free from being covered over. (If you know anything about mobile homes, duct work is all put into a straight row, and sometimes you have to forgo your favorite furniture placement, just so you can stay warm! We also put extra blankets on the bed. And my DH will gladly tell you about his abominable wife! (I sometimes wear a long hoodie to bed, pulling the hood up over my head and tying it in place. LOL)

Do what you can to stay warm!

And for now, here is the COVID-19 update:

This is perhaps the best day we have had since the beginning of the pandemic! No Change reported in Greenbrier, Monroe, and Summers Counties! Woo-Hoo! I am so happy to see that! I'm glad to see the low occurrences in the rest of the state! This is very heartening!

REMEMBER: Wear a mask if you leave home. Wash your hands frequently. Practice Social Distancing. And do not congregate. Keep it up folks! This is the only way we can hope to kill this stuff off! Read up on the Vaccine. Decide if it's for you or not, and then get vaccinated if you have decided to get it. IT'S UP TO YOU! Don't let anyone else decide for you.

Okay folks! That's it for today! Stay warm. We'll see you back here again tomorrow! God Bless!
