Latest WV DHHR Report on COVID-19

At 5:00pm, the West Virginia DHHR reported the following:

Total Tested:              125,773

Negative:                   123,524

Positive:                        2,249

Deaths:                              88

Greenbrier Tested: 2,353   11 Positive   (7 Recovered and 4 Active)

Monroe Tested:         656    9 Positive    (7 recovered and 1 Active, and 1 Died)

This is breaking my heart to see our fellow West Virginians dying from this pandemic. Deaths are up 3 just from this morning. Please. please, please practice social distancing, and wearing masks! It could be you next, or worse, your spouse or one of your children.

Dr. Fauci says coronavirus pandemic is his 'worst nightmare'

"Dr. Fauci said Tuesday the coronavirus pandemic has turned out to be his "worst nightmare" and warned
 that it's not over yet as 21 states across the country have seen an increase in cases.

The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the nation's top i
nfectious disease expert spoke at a BIO Digital virtual health-care conference about the 
continued spread of the coronavirus across the world four months into the pandemic.

"Like Oh, my goodness, when is it going to end?" he said. "It really is very complicated. 
So we're just at almost the beginning of really understanding."

Over 1,000 reported in the past 24 hours

MSN reports this morning:

"In a little over a week, Americans have gone from taking their first hesitant steps outside again to marching in tightly-packed crowds in cities all over the country.

Any uncertainty about venturing out during a coronavirus pandemic has been seemingly cast aside to protest police brutality after watching the video of George Floyd pinned under an officer's knee in Minneapolis. They've chanted slogans and shouted Floyd's name, some without masks. During arrests, police have loaded them into vehicles and holding cells -- without social distancing.

But despite the sudden shift, coronavirus isn't over. So far this week, 4,430 people have been reported dead since Sunday. Of those, 1,036 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.

And by late Thursday, the virus had killed more than 108,000 people in the United States and infected at least 1.8 million, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Officials fear those numbers will rise significantly due to the protests, and are urging those taking part to get tested for coronavirus."
