News Break Reported that the first Monroe County death due to COVID-19 has occurred.
On Monday at approximately 6 PM, at the Springfield Center in Lindside, a 77-year old male resident of the facility. Our sincerest condolences go out to the family, who at this time remains unidentified to the public.
This has brought me great sorrow. Monroe had traveled this far without any deaths, but worse, this was a 77-year old man, who probably lived in the nursing facility in isolation. Which means no family at his side. I hope there are no others to die in a nursing facility.
Please, Please wear a mask when leaving your home! No, it's not illegal to not wear a mask. But it's the right thing to do. Prevent the spread of this disease by wearing a mask (over your nose and mouth), and frequent handwashing.
