WV - Open For Business

West Virginia is opening for business today. The citizens, however, meet it with mixed feelings. What do you think? Should we be open for business? Or should we wait until we at least see a downward curve in positive tested individuals before opening?

Some say, (On NewsBreak) that we are heading toward a greater Depression than our parents or grandparents knew. The un-employment rate is rising faster than ever before. And yet, if the public aren't returned to work, a depression is sure to come.

Please let us know what you think, below in the comments.

More Info on WV COVID-19

NewsBreaker announced that as of 5:10pm, WV COVID-19 stats have changed:
Tested: 41,526 cases
Positive: 1095
Negative: 40,431
Deaths: 38
Greenbrier Co. Positive: 3
Monroe Co. Positive: 5

You will note that WV continues to climb, having evidently not peaked as of yet. Which means we should continue to anticipate more cases positive. Prepare to continue to wear masks when leaving your home. Continue to remain to have social distancing. And please, only one person in the home should take care of outside business: i.e.: one person for banking; one person to purchase groceries, etc.

I will continue to keep you updated as I receive notices.

Family Dog Contracts COVID-19 positive test

MSN reported this morning that a family dog in a Duke University test is the first dog in the U.S. to test positive for the COVID-19 virus. They also reported that last month Hong Kong reported the first dog ever to be positive for the virus, and was likely to have been the first human-to-animal transmission of the virus.

In North Carolina, the dog is a pug named Winston, and lives in Chapel Hill. They also claimed out of the family of four humans, only three tested positive. There are also another dog and a cat in the home who did not test positive.

We wish Winston and his humans a speedy recovery!

Greenbrier Historical Society Gone Virtual

Because the COVID-19 virus continues on, the Greenbrier Historical Society has gone virtual with tour(s)  and showing some ephemera as well.

You can visit Greenbrier Historical Society here.   You can enter the exhibit(s) via the prompts, for free.

I used their resources once a few years back. The staff were warm and friendly. They offered their help, and I grabbed them and held on tight. A few months later I received a copy of a Land Grant for my great-great-grandfather.

So, if you're stumped and looking at Greenbrier County,  go ahead and go! You never know just how much help they can give you without going there and seeing for yourself.

Best wishes on finding your genealogical brick wall~ Tell'em Texicanwife sent ya!

Hasbro: Making Face Shields for Healthcare Workers

HASBRO the toy company that has made all of our toy dreams come true as youngsters, has now partnered up with Cartamundi, a card and board game company, in the development  and manufacturing of medical face shields, according to MSN this morning. The PPE will be going first to all front line medical caretakers. The production will reach for the new tag  Medical PPE.

Hasbro joins in the team work of several companies that have provided PPE and other equipment that will assist in the treatment, prevention, and research of the disease.

    Thank you Hasbro and Cartamundi!

As the Weekend Winds Down...

As our weekend begins to wind down this evening, I'm a bit reflective, in that I haven't done everything I had intended to do. So, here I sit trying to get a post out with little research done. Still I will post what I have, and hope you will all will not be offended!

The latest update on the COVID-19 stats for West Virginia is as follows:
Tested: 39,284
Negative: 38,1031
Positive: 1053
Deaths: 34
Greenbrier County: 3
Monroe County: 5

And it just continues to grow every day. Lord, help us in our hour of need! I'm hoping you will agree with me every morning to say a prayer over those who have been positive, and over those who are not tested. And do it again every night before you lay your head down, say a prayer over this again. If God hears enough of us in sincere prayer, He will surely answer with so many sending Him the request.

The CDC continues to state that it may be too soon for state governments to "re-open" for business. Even so, many states have already made statements to the fact that they will soon re-open. West Virginia is not one of those states at present.

Are you looking for a great home business opportunity?

Don't forget to thank a veteran if you were able to lay down and sleep tonight!

Sleep well my friends!

Breaking News!

It seems that some states have announced that they WILL reopen, even though they do not meet the qualifications to do so (minimum is 14-days of no new outbreaks. Each has shown increases continue to develop daily.)

The states that are considering re-opening are: Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alaska.
All information for this post was reviewed by author from Haystack TV's Yahoo News.

At the same time, the CDC Director has announced that the second wave of the Coronavirus will likely be seen as much larger and much more damaging than this first wave we are experiencing now. Info from Newsy on Haystack TV.

Korea announces that Leader Kim Jong Un, is convalescing and doing well following his surgery. The Leader recently underwent cardiovascular surgery. The country is not delivering the exact surgery the Leader underwent, just stating it was cardiovascular related. In lieu of Earth Day's 50th Anniversary, I will wish him well.

The Social Security Administration reported the following today, taken from it's Blog here.
If you do not plan to retire until after 2035, please speak to your financial advisor The time to be pro-active is now!

A new  Danish version of the Bible omits hundred of references to Israel. If one would only READ the Bible, they would find out that the Israeli people are God's CHOSEN ones. He will magnify His love and glory upon them. He will grant them with great reward for their struggles and the atrocities put upon them by other nations. None of that has been changed between the Old Testament and the New Testament! Please read here, and be sure to click on the link for the video to be shown.

The Muslim Leader @Imamofpeace wrote: "
Danish Bible Society has published a new Bible that does not include the word ‘Israel’ whether it refers to the Holy Land or to the Israelites. ‘Israel’ has been replaced with ‘Jews’ or erased altogether. The agenda is to present Jews as stateless. It’s false and against God.

Please watch this video. What is so beautiful, is only better! Brings me to tears!

Welcome! Come on in and set a'spell!

Hey ya'all! So happy to see you! I see you are wearing your medical grade mask. (Where did you manage to find any?) I'm busy making some handmade, but have to leave a pocket for the N.95 inserts I've ordered. They could come in around/about May 2nd.

Can you raise the mask enough for tea and biscuits? ……..Oh that is great! We'll sit the 6-foot apart to minimize exposure to one another. I have lemon verbena and  I've made dandelion tea for the great anti-oxidanta, and I have enough dandelion greens to make you some if you would like...……? Wonderful! I'll let you put sugar or cream if you'd like. The biscuits are also lemon. I grated lemon peel and used the pulp when making the biscuits.

How are you doing passing your time on self-isolation? As I've said, I've been making masks, and am waiting for the filtration to arrive.

What was that? You can't put sugar in your tea? Or cream? Oh. silly me! This virtual tea party is becoming more and more a part of our every day lives! Sis, please don't forget to take care of yourself after spending time taking care of Dad! You are so busy, I'm afraid you'll forget to take care of you!

Let's meet again tomorrow. Same time? Be sure to make your pot of tea there. We'll have our own tea party!

I know,  the new stat's on the COVID-19 virus are really scary. And they say our state, West Virginia, hasn't even peaked yet!

Ya know, I read the DHHR stats on the COVID-19 for West Virginia this morning. I think it was 10:00a.m. when I read them. There have been 25,836 tests in WV so far. 24,897 tested negative. 939 have tested positive. And there have been 26 deaths in WV alone. Greenbrier County, where you live, has only had 3 cases so far. And Monroe County, where I live was just 2 confirmed cases up until two days ago, but now there are 5 positive cases . And just a few minutes ago, there was an infant tested positive in the state, but no county was ID'd. I'm glad they have kept that secret for now.

Okay, Sis! I know you gotta go! Talk to you again tomorrow!

I guess that just leaves me and you on my blog! I've got a few more things I'd like to tell you about. And since you're here in at my 'virtual behest', I'll just keep talking, and when you're ready to leave, well...you just tell me good-bye then. Okay?

Good, then.  So.....are you staying busy? About to go stir-crazy? Yeah, yeah, I've been crafting , making bound junk journals,  and regular journals and photo albums. They are all turning out so beautiful! And I'm reading a lot. Studying the Book of Revelations, one cha[ter at a time. It's such a fascinating book! After Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins wrote their interpretation of Revelations, in the Left Behind series, I can't get it out of my mind! It's awesome, it's intellectual as you attempt to interpret it, and it's awe inspiring! For the things that are able to be understood will mesmerize and make you seem so low in the scheme of things. So, the Bible series has a great study guide. And I'm going through that right now. Love it!

After I finished up reading Bound by Erica Ekrem, I started reading this book: "Woman in Red: Magdalene Speaks" by Krishna Rose.

And this is a great read! I hadn't slept any night before last, therefore I was sleepy, but I did read the great reviews on this book. And it's a story I am already wrapped up in (my private research goes right through her!), although the Mary I have been searching and researching for is not the Magdalene. Be watching soon for my review on this book, as well as another I am currently reading (yes, I know, two books at once! How do I keep them separate in my mind? People always ask me that. It's simple, I never read two books at once that are similar. So the second book I am currently reading is ;Making Handmade Books" by Alisa Golden.

Gotta love this cover! Look at all the books, and their various bindings! Awesome picture! I want to make my next lot of books to try to recreate this stack of books! Can you imagine these? Love their look! Can't you just hardly wait to open one and begin it as a junk journal? So cool!

I'll let you know how these books turn out! Have a great rest of the day! Yep, take your headphones off, and close your Windows, and then log out. And don't forget to either turn off your power bar, or unplug your computer, etc. for the day.

Go take a walk in your own back yard to breathe in a little fresh air. Then back inside for a late lunch. Then read a while. Catch up on laundry and dishes. Then we'll cook up something yummy for dinner tonight. And maybe even fix an easy dessert. I've got walnuts and bananas. Think I'm gonna make some banana bread for my DH. It's one of his favorites! He asks for so little, so when he does ask for something, I really try to make it happen! Love that fella so!

Yeah, I know you gotta go. Me too. See ya tomorrow. Same time!

    Mwah!

Today's DHHR Report

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of 10:00 a.m., on April 20, 2020, there have been 22,155 laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 902 positive, 21,253 negative and 24 deaths.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of each of those who have fought the good fight.

It is with those who were not even afforded the opportunity to say good-bye in person.

And we pray, as its the only thing we can do at this time, but our thoughts and prayers are with each of those who still remain on the frontlines: doctors, nurses, special therapies (respiratory therapy especially at this time). We pray for those who remain on the frontline from law enforcement and fire prevention.

New River Community Technical College Donates!

BEAVER, W.Va. (WVVA) When New River Community and Technical College moved spring classes online in March, faculty and staff began looking at the personal protective equipment (PPE) that the college had on-hand and talking to clinical partners about their needs during the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Masks and gloves are things that many of the college’s healthcare programs keep for use in our labs,” explained JoAnna Perry, Director of the college’s Practical Nursing Program. “With programs not meeting on campus and a local demand, we wanted to help out those on the frontlines.”

Texicanwife is Back!

The Texicanwife is back! Once more she will be here to inform you, ask you, report to you, and hopefully answer you!

Yes! We have moved since last our post. You can't see it here, but there is a long-long-LONG trailer on the opposite side of the depot. And that is where the Dh and I now reside. DH retired in 2011, while I didn't retire until 2018, when we were offered the job of caretakers for this place.(This was an N&W RR station from 1907-1932. It then became a general store, and stayed that until about 1980 or so. It then became a restaurant for hunters, which is a seasonal thing here.)

Since this photograph was taken, the little red house you can just make out on the opposite side of the Depot is gone. (Torn down as it was unsafe, and it made way for our very LONG trailer!) The Depot has since been painted, and the lower floor is used for the Bean(e) reunions as well as the Caldwell reunions. Yep, my sister bought the place in 2018. The main room is a museum for family to walk through. And the old grain room is now a dining room for family reunions.

The Depot is state of the art in digital camera protection. It records, as well as is monitored. DH is security first step. I am second step monitoring to make sure that law enforcement has been dispatched when needed. We are proud to be a part of this historic building's comeback!

Home is wherever your family is at. At least that's what they say. And for us, it's the truth! We love living and entertaining here. So stay tuned for some of our events!

Be watching for reviews on everything! So if you have a product that you would like to see reviewed, please let us know in the comments below!

Books reviewed will show a link here for my 'The Books on My Shelf', where I review every book I read. You can catch up by clicking here! And if you do, please click on the FOLLOW button and subscribe to follow our book reviews and Texicanwife, this spot as well!

I will be posting often! And I look forward to meeting as many of you as I possibly can! So for now, I will simply say, I hope to see you soon!
