I am Back..... ( 30 May 2021)

 Hello My Dear Ones,

I just wanted to let you all know that I am back, starting today. I'm a little weak yet, but I'm doing okay.

I spent 6 days in the hospital, following a mild CVA (cerebral vascular accident), or more commonly known as a cerebral stroke. The only residual I have is general weakness and being dizzy 24/7.

I came home with a walker, a ton of new meds to take, and home health for looking after me, and making sure I do exercises, and take medications as I am supposed to. I met with them first time yesterday. And I have a new diet to follow and stick to.  (Yucky.) Who likes dieting? Not me! I was born roly poly, and I'll most likely die that way as well. 

I would like to ask for your prayers as I begin to get around more with my walker. DH is determined that I will row the line! LOL.

 I am back today! Yeah! Sorry about my absence yesterday, but our internet was down for the whole day. It just came back on in the last 30 minutes. I am grateful for our internet company. A fews years earlier, and we wouldn't have had internet in our little valley! So, it's been a big boon to all of us who live here!

There is still a lot of confusion regarding whether or not those who have been vaccinated should be able to go without a mask or not. The CDC stated yesterday that it would be up to local businesses to decide whether or not to mandate use of a mask in their business setting. And Dr. Fauci made the statement that it would be up to state and local government to decide. As for me, I'm going to continue to wear a mask, even when told it was okay to go without. I have lung problems and I'm just not going to endanger my health. On the flip side, I am not going to be vaccinated unless my physician, and the government states I have to be vaccinated.  I, personally, don't believe they have done enough trials on the vaccine to allow us to make an informed decision on whether or not to get it. And some of the side effects, well, I can do without unless I absolutely must have it!

Stay tuned for more on the masks.

Continue to wash your hands frequently under running water with soap. You may use a hand sanitizer if no running water is available.

Continue to practice Social Distancing.

And no congregating unless you can maintain Social Distancing.

Due to the current upheaval on the legalities of whether or not those who have been vaccinated should wear a mask or not when in public, it has always been my advice to "if in doubt" continue with the last known law, and be watching for any new developments.

**** In case you haven't heard this, the CDC is now saying that individual states can agree that persons who have had BOTH of the vaccines should be allowed to not wear masks in certain areas. The legal logistics are still being worked out, so don't jumpt the gun here. As soon as I hear more, I will, of course, let all of you know. But perhaps we are looking for the end of the pandemic to come sooner, rather than later! If you haven't yet received the two part vaccine, please check out the DHHR's website for where and when to get your vaccine; or call your local DHHR for testing in your area.

For now, continue to wear a face mask when leaving home. Make sure it covers both nose and mouth. Make sure children wear a mask specifically made for a child.

REMINDERS:

Wear a mask when away from home until we are given the okay not to wear them. Make sure the mask covers both your nose and your mouth. Make sure you are wearing the proper size mask (especially important for children!)

Wash your hands frequently under running water with soap. The running water is the key here. You can use any kind of soap. If running water is unavailable, you may use hand sanitizer.

It really is looking better! Gov. Jim Justice is aiming at Flag Day in the Mountain State to curb the use of masks! What do you think? Do you think we will be even better by then? Or is the Governor jumping the gun? (Flag Day is Monday, June 14th this year.) I'm holding my opinion in check. While I certainly don't want to see the mandate on masks eased before it's due time, I am definitely more than ready, like everyone else, to see the mandate lifted! Who wouldn't like to breathe easy?
