Father's Day Journal

Oh, I tend to like using old books, especially old text books, to make junk journals of. This is the cover of my latest Father's Day journal, It's a fabric covered book, in dark blue cloth cover. It's innards were long time ago cannibalized. Just the intact cover when I got her.

Inside I chose to have two signatures of 60 pages each, so the total is 120 pages. About half are decorated, and the rest are left for writing. There is also a removeable book that can also be written on. As well as tags, postcards, trade cards, and old photographs that be written upon.

This a pretty black and white page that Dad, or his little ones, can color. It is the inside back cover.

And here we have 2-inch circles that are held together by a brad clasp. This allows the team of circles to spread open and look like a bunch of floweres.

Here we have a trade card filled with a myriad of  other trades cards. Each of the cards can be written upon their backs.

This phrase was so good for Father's Day:
"Bold is in Your Blood".

Here is a tag  with a trades card on the front. The card is from an old coffee shop. The back is left blank for writing upon.

Here we have the lower corner with a pretty birdie tucked in. And then the top has an "over the top" bookmarker, which is just as stated: it is folded to hang OVER a book page. Not just in between pages. Great idea!

Another trades card pocket filled with even more antiquated trades cards.

Here is the pocket that holds the little round circle pieces. It also hold another surprise!

Here it is! A beautiful butterfly with a flapping wing! The wing is attached to the body with another little brad. And the whole thing can be colored to dear old Dad's journal.

And behind the Gypsy Long Song moveable parts, there sits a hawk upon its branch.

Here is another trades card pocket, filled with even more trades cards for journaling and  writing upon.

Here is a lovely bean berry plant. From these berries we get our coffee. It has  a burlap ribbon from its top.

Here we have a colored picture of the moon rise over a marshland. You can see ducks in the evening skies.

Here is a 1919 check for services rendered.

And here are two checks, one from 1847 and the other from 1848,  both for baled product. Who knows what kind of bales there could be!

This two lovely steampunk imagery. And right in the middle of the book, between the two pages hangs a skeleton key. Use it to finally open up your mind and see your dreams and wishes come true!

Here is a collage I made myself from tickets, old signs, and even an SUV in the bottom. I love how well this turned out!

Here we have a bill from the old town's prosecuting attorney for services provided by making  recommendations, and obtaining documents for clients. This is from 1868.

This is a colored photograph of a gentleman hiking through the woods with his bow, attempting to get a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.

And here is fish that the fisherman caught several of. Yummy in the frying pan, I'm sure.

And now the lonesomest photo I found.

This is the Tom Turkey that got away from the bow hunter! He
s a handsome old Tom, and would've been especially nice for Thanksgiving dinner. I guess this year, honey, we buy the turkey!
